We spent the week becoming acquainted with the broad categories a person should consider when speaking in front of an audience and were able to take a look at Michelle Obama's DNC speech in order to consider whether she was effective in these categories. We contextualized public speaking in a comparison with other types of communication and began to consider the factors involved in the "communication transaction" model.
In the coming week, we will continue thinking about these factors as well as reflect on the "Show and Tell" informative speech that each student presented in order to work towards the next formal presentation.
